About Me
My name is Elizabeth Eckenrode and I am an MYP Language & Literature and Individuals & Societies instructor for grades 6 and 7. Before that, I spent five years as an English as an Additional Language instructor at the primary and middle school levels. I am seeking a position as an English and/or Humanities instructor at the middle school level.
My teaching career has brought me to countries like Costa Rica, the United States, South Korea, Vietnam, and now Romania. You can see photos from all of these locations throughout my portfolio! However, I did not begin the journey of international teaching for the sake of travel (though it is an amazing perk!). |
Although I am a very stereotypical introvert that loves to research the latest educational trends and play video games from home, I love people. Really! I am especially interested in learning about new cultures and seeing the world from a different lens. After student teaching in Costa Rica I was in awe in differences in lifestyle between the Ticos (Costa Rican citizens) and what I had experienced up until that point. After two years in the United States it was apparent that the travel bug had bitten me and I was meant to be international.
In my spare time I love to play and replay games on my Nintendo Switch and Playstation 5, explore cafes all over the city, and hang out with my little rescue dog from Vietnam.
Check out some of my favorite photos since going international below!
