Welcome!
My name is Elizabeth Eckenrode and I am an MYP Language & Literature and Individuals & Societies teacher living in Bucharest, Romania. In the past, I was an EAL teacher for five years and my day-to-day work involved supporting teachers in making academic content accessible to language learners through a variety of co-planning and co-teaching strategies. Today, I try to do the same as I collaborate alongside teammates and create content for classes.
My passion lies in working with students in grades 5-8 and helping them learn how to navigate life as young adults. There is nothing better than helping these kids learn how to use resources appropriately and develop the interpersonal skills necessary for collaborating with others as global citizens. I have often had the privilege of navigating this in the role as a grade level leader and find great joy in the extended flexibility to meet with students one-on-one during advisory blocks and collaborating with student care teams to create supports based on data-driven conversations.
